Solution Heat Treat and Age Hardening Furnace Systems are custom engineered to process aluminum castings, forgings, extrusions and plate. We develop designs to suit every type of production environment including roller hearth, tower furnaces, cast link conveyors, batch systems with both spray and integral quench systems and age hardening furnaces. These systems are designed for solution heat treatment, solution annealing, precipitation hardening, artificial harden, age hardening, artificial aging (ageing) and preheat applications.
The Aluminum Furnace Seminar is scheduled for September 28-30, 2009. Check back for speakers & updated topics

Jet Impingement Short Cycle Technology
Short cycle heat treatment of aluminum castings SECO/WARWICK Corporation embarked on a development program to solve the problem of Uniformity of Heating Rate in a Conventional Mass Flow Jet Heating Furnace for the Solution Heat Treatment of Aluminum Castings, and was awarded a patent in February 2006 for the resulting design.
Tower Furnace
SECO/WARWICK has designed and installed a unique Tower Furnace for extruded aluminum tubing. This bulletin provides an illustration and description of the system.
Roller Hearth Furnace
A Roller Hearth Furnace line can be employed to heat treat aluminum castings or forgings on a batch/continuous basis. This bulletin provides illustrations and describes quenching options.
Solution Heat Treatment is
heating an alloy to a suitable temperature, holding at that
temperature long enough to cause one or more constituents to
enter into solid solution, and then cooling rapidly enough to
hold these constituents in solution.
Precipitation Hardening is
hardening caused by the precipitation of a constituent from a
supersaturated solid solution.
Aging or Ageing is a change in the properties of certain metals and alloys
that occurs at ambient or moderately elevated temperatures after
hot working or a heat treatment or after a cold working
operation. The change in properties is often, but not
always, due to a phase change (precipitation), but never involves
a change in chemical composition of the metal or alloy.
