Maintenance Tips

We custom engineer aluminum heat treatment systems for coil, foil, rod, wire, billet, slab and ingot heating. This equipment is used for annealing,  homogenizing, preheat and reheat to roll.  Furnace configurations include car, batch tray, traveling and pusher style furnaces, equipped with material handling and advanced control systems.

Coil and Foil Annealing Furnaces may be provided with either a Mass Flow design which protects the load surfaces that are vulnerable to damage during high atmosphere flow, or Vortex Jet Heating, used to reduce cycle time in single or double coil furnaces.

Homogenizing Furnacess for log, billet or slab are typically batch tray, car or pusher furnaces. Unique reversing airflow designs and temperature control systems produce fast heating rates and close temperature uniformity throughout the entire load.

The Aluminum Furnace Seminar is scheduled for September 28-30, 2009.

Vortex Jet Heating

Vortex Jet Heating Coil Annealer

Vortex Jet Heating  SECO/WARWICK has secured the patent rights for the vortex flow jet heating system for improved performance in aluminum process furnaces.

Trials have shown that the new system maintains a more uniform coil surface temperature during the heat-up phase. This result enables a shorter annealing cycle without local overheating, preventing localized cracking of milling oil, and produces more uniform material properties. White Paper

Improved Methods of Log Cooling
Log cooling after homogenization has begun to play a more important role than ever before. Production demands are requiring both faster and more uniform cooling of the logs. SECO/WARWICK has developed an improved method to increase both the cooling rate and temperature uniformity throughout the entire load.  To read the entire paper,  follow this link to our White Paper in .pdf format.
